3 years ago, while on a visit to New York City with my husband (then fiance) we were wandering around the Upper West Side when we stumbled upon a hole in the wall Arab restaurant. Tired from the long day’s walking we decided to rest up and grab a bite there before heading out. Wanting to eat pretty healthy, I decided to order the falafel sandwich. With the primary ingredient of falafel being chickpeas, it is a very healthy snack to have. The sandwich was so delicious that I decided to have another. After we ate we went along our merry way.
Until this day, I have maintained that that was the tastiest falafel sandwich that I have ever had. Not in the United States, but in the world (and I’ve had falafel in Egypt, home of the falafel!). Continue reading
