My favorite salad is a Greek salad. There is just something about the combination of flavors that I thoroughly enjoy. Naturally, last summer, on a trip to Greece with my husband, we made sure to try the Greek salad at every restaurant we went to. (Traveller’s note: The Greek don’t just call it a “salad”, but a “Greek salad” as well!). Not surprisingly many restaurants we went to had AMAZING Greek salads. However, unfortunately for others their salads were terrible. Who puts capers on a Greek salad anyway?
Following our trip to Greece we made a stop in Egypt to visit some family. Similar to Greek salads, the primary ingredients of salads in Egypt are tomatoes and cucumbers. While having dinner at my husband’s grandmothers house, we tried a salad she made that had not only tomatoes and cucumbers, but onions and yellow bell peppers as well.
