RunKeeper app review

Eating healthy is a great way not only to lose weight but to live life. However, it is only one half of the equation. The other half is good exercise. I have always been a run on the treadmill kind of girl, while my husband prefers running outdoors. He was finally able to convince me to join him on a run outside and I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. One thing I missed, however, was being able to keep track of my workout.

How long had I run for?

How far had I run?

How many calories had I burned?

At the mention of this problem to a friend, an iPhone app called RunKeeper (http://runkeeper.com/) was recommended to me. Not only would this app keep track of my time, distance run (via gps on my phone) and estimated calories burned, but it would keep a log all of my runs and show me trends such as my average page and distance. In addition to this, I am able to post my workouts to my social networks such as Facebook, which is a great way to keep myself motivated. Lastly, it works great for other exercises besides running. Below is a log of a post-Thanksgiving dinner walk I took to burn off some turkey!
